Within our six research departments, two are heavily focused on the UK media, CAMERA UK and CAMERA Arabic, the latter covers Arabic media connected to western media outlets such as Sky News, the Independent, and the BBC.

Founded in 1982, the Committee for Accuracy in Middle           East Reporting and Analysis (CAMERA) is an international,

media-monitoring, research organization devoted to promoting   accurate and balanced coverage of Israel and the Middle East.

CAMERA offers students two programs to campuses via our CAMERA on Campus Department.

The CAMERA Fellowship is our star program where 60 students from 5 different countries are individually selected after applying via a rigorous process. They are tasked to monitor campus media, write factual, pro-Israel op-eds/letters and organize events and workshops to promote facts, educate their peers and challenge anti-Israel bias. CAMERA Fellows receive £750 after completing the program.

Each summer, CAMERA Fellows are flown to the U.S. to take part in our annual, four-day International Student Leadership Conference in Boston. All expenses are covered.

The innovative CAMERA on Campus Coalition, first launched in 2011, is currently on 60 campuses (across the US, Canada and the UK), supporting independent Israel organizations. Within the UK, the coalition currently includes Israel societies at UCL, KCL, Queen Mary London and the University of Birmingham.  This program is rolling; thus, students can apply all year-round.

Fellows and CAMERA supported Israel Societies benefit from financial and human resources provided by CAMERA staff and other trained professionals including receiving £3,000 throughout the year to use towards Israel educational programming. CAMERA places a premium on personal contact with students, including frequent communication, site visits, and assistance with writing and event organizing. CAMERA requires its students to sponsor frequent educational programs and assists in enlisting speakers, panels and films. CAMERA partners often with the other Israel activist organizations in the UK and encourage the societies that we support to work with as many organizations as possible in order to strengthen their organizations and their education.
